Winding Pins (Patent no. DE 10 2004 058 331 A1)

Task:
Slide-free and economical filament winding of low-angle tubes
(lower production costs)
Problem:
If the fibre path deviates from the geodesic line and if the
fibre force exceeds the friction, the fibres or the whole laminate
will slip. This is frequently the case in the so-called turning areas
at the ends of the tube, if the winding angle changes from + to -
too rapidly. To avoid this, the manufacturer simply elongates
these areas. But, the end sections are usually waste and must
be costly disposed.
To save costs and material, the manufacturer needs a suitable
production tool to keep the turning area short.
Solution:
The universally usable Winding Pins solve the problem.
Form-locking and slide-free short turning will be possible.
The Winding Pins can be fastened on any position of the
mandrel. Depending on height of fibre tension
Winding Pins of type C, D or R are used.
