Problem:

If the fibre path deviates from the geodesic line and if the
fibre force exceeds the friction, the fibres or the whole laminate
will slip. This is frequently the case in the so-called turning areas
at the ends of the tube, if the winding angle changes from + to -
too rapidly. To avoid this, the manufacturer simply elongates
these areas. But, the end sections are usually waste and must
be costly disposed.
To save costs and material, the manufacturer needs a suitable
production tool to keep the turning area short.
